For all of those anxiously awaiting the next ARTE blog post, I apologize for the delay. I’ve been uninspired since we returned to the US and have neglected updates for my loyal occasional stoppers-by.
Since last we posted, Evalynn and I stopped through Morocco for a week’s vacation, spent a month in Rincon, Puerto Rico and a month in San Juan, Puerto Rico and are currently hunkered down in St. Petersburg, Florida for three weeks.
So, while we’re still location independent, the letdown after almost a year outside of the US, experiencing the cultures, the languages, constantly figuring out how to work within the local parameters… well, everything just seems less interesting.
But this is the transitory nature of our lifestyle. We started this blog as “how to become location independent”, then it became about “how to navigate outside of the US”, then sorta “explaining our experiences”, and now… we’re still location independent. There are new challenges. And there’s plenty to see in the US.
Our ultimate goal now, though, is to get back outta the country. And I’m not talking 3 weeks in Peru, I’m talking, let’s move to South America for a year. We have a year planned in the US. We’ll get vaccinated, wait for COVID to subside a little bit and look at our options and post updates here. It’s a new puzzle; one I’m anxious to solve.
In the meanwhile, we’ve run into some interesting problems returning to the US and we’ll go into more details in forthcoming posts. Airline COVID Test requirements, Getting a driver’s license and purchasing a car when you have no fixed address, spending a year trying to refund flights, and trying to book a private concert from another state… all coming soon-ish.
